If you've landed here, you probably came from my web, so you already know a little bit of me.

Why start a blog?

Mostly because I enjoy writing down my thoughts.

So this is where I'll write about:

• Lessons from building systems -- the design tradeoffs, the bugs that took days to find, and the small decisions that mattered more than they seemed to at the time.
• Tutorials and walkthroughs -- things I wish someone had shown me sooner.
• Opinions and discussions -- things I found worth discussing.
• Occasional silly notes -- because not everything worth writing about is the serious stuff only.

What's here now

Right now the blog is brand new, so this post is the whole archive. But I have a few drafts in progress, and I'd rather publish slowly when I have something real to say.
